Frequently Asked Questions

How can I benefit from therapy?

Therapy is a sacred space where clients can unload without fear of judgement. That’s pretty important when you want to make changes. Therapy offers an opportunity to unpack thoughts and feelings with a professional who is trained to help you sort through it all. When we begin working through those thoughts and feelings, especially the ones we don’t share with anybody else, we sometimes start having clearer thoughts and deeper sleep. Just by gaining clearer thoughts we can make better decisions on relationships, work, and more.

What does therapy look like?

Therapy often is you and a professional therapist in a nice office speaking together. Most of the talking is done by you and the therapist provides clarification and asks questions. The first time you visit takes about 90 minutes that is used for paperwork, describing what the client is experiencing using a diagnosis, discussing therapy goals, and setting a follow up appointment. Therapy can be weekly, twice a week, monthly, or some other agreed upon time frame.

How much does it cost?

If you are paying privately a one hour individual session is $80, but we accept many insurances and you would pay the associated co-pay only.

How long do I need to stay in therapy?

Many people come to therapy weekly for 12 weeks, but it isn’t uncommon for somebody to come for less or more sessions. How long you stay in therapy has a lot to do with what you’re working on and if it is still benefiting you. You can stop therapy at any time for any reason.
